I think perhaps bungee jumping?

That may be a common thread. Growing up rural gives you the freedom of the forests and fields to experiment in.

My own naturist tendencies started with my earliest reliable memories. They were suppressed and sandwiched with guilt by a stern fundamentalist family, then later tweaked by raging adolescent hormones but I survived.

I'm sure being an Aspie also contributed if it wasn't actually causal. Sometimes we don't get socialized like other kids and miss out on things everyone else absorbs. Many of us also have a sensitivity to the texture of fabrics and the binding of clothing. Makes us round pegs destined for square holes.

My own introduction to social nudity was as an art model in college when I was 18. Not exactly the same as a club meeting at a pool but eventually I adjusted. When I eventually moved to LA, I discovered a lot more options. That was 43 years ago and I never looked back.

Count me in as another who made use of a country upbringing to discard clothes at an early age and explore life naked. I have no regrets!
