Here in SoCal, January is the coldest month but February is the wettest. I don't think of nudie season starting until March.

December and January also have the shortest days. It makes me feel grumpy. I remember what it was like in Michigan.

We just had a storm pass by that dropped a couple inches of rain. However... there's another one due in a couple of days threatening 5+ inches over 4 days. If it happens it will be as bad as the tropical storm that went through here in August. Our average annual rainfall is only 12-15 inches. We're not ready for it. We'll NEVER be ready for it.

I'm not a sports person, extreme or otherwise (unless you count free music jams as extreme sports!), but as for "grumpy February," I have been known to take in Colorado's legendary Valley View Hot Springs in February. 😊

I haven't done any extreme sports in the nude, but I knew a guy who went windsurfing in the buff off Moonstone Beach (a former nude beach in RI). When he was well offshore his boom broke and he had to drift back. The problem was that he came ashore at a textile beach. It's probably a good idea to have an emergency swimsuit with you for that reason.

I work hard to compile a list of 5k runs inside nudist resorts. The sport is mostly ignored by nudist bloggers, including blogs by the manager of a resort that hosts one. My site is listed on the AANR website under activities. This is because running races requires a high weekly mileage which must be done as textile, including the risk of assault and even murder. Now certainly 5k runs in nudism pull in casual walkers and hobby joggers exactly like local textile 5k runs. Post race gatherings at the pool or hot tub we are all runners. Resorts vary. Some are very friendly. The party people at some resorts are just, as one runner said are "them". Those people have a fake hiarchy of being in the cool table in the middle school cafeteria. We just did a real accomplishment and first and last place are all finishers. The naked runners after their race are more social than regular nudists. As I said, bloggers and social media ignore us, and ignore fitness. We only attract men looking for photos of naked women, and a chance to cat call.

It will be a thrilling concept to play naked extreme sport. I have not played it so far as I live in a country where I can't even dream playing such a sport in nakedness. Anyways, wishing you too a happy valentine's day in advance..

I'm in the Tampa Bay area and freezing my ass off. January has been a terrible month. Yesterday (Jan 31) and today have been the first 2 consecutive sunny days this year. I think January has given us 4 or 5 sunny days in total. So yes - I'm crabby. The past two weeks have shown some promise of spring (temps of 65 to 78 or so), but only on fewer than half of those 14 days. February is typically our strawberry festival, but the berries may arrive in March. I'm living on hope at this point.

Well, the Olympics were played in the nude, back in the day!

The idea was that athletes were at their most natural selves.

I have always wanted to play tennis in the nude but worry about my boy parts flopping around and getting REALLY painful very quickly.....

But, to many posters' point, ANYthing in the water SHOULD be done nude...

Our favorite sport to do in the nude is sailing! Combine that with swimming, snorkeling and yes, even SCUBA diving. There is nothing more natural than to be out on the water feeling the air and sun over your entire body. Combine that with a few close friends and it’s a total blast!

I am very much hoping that February is not the grumpiest month. I had too hard a time with January. Living near the Great Lakes it seems it is cloudy all the time. I spend my time mentally planning visits to naturist resorts this spring.

As far as extreme sports, I would love to down hill ski nude. I can imagine the breeze across my whole body, but I bet it would be cold.

Blessings, Spring is coming.

I sure agree, this cabin fever is setting in. Had some great attitude help this week, with a little mini spring 60 degree weather, four days in a row, I e been able to get out on my bicycle. Just wish I could do it naked! That just doesn’t work tho!!

I’m a great believer in the maxim that if you can do it it’s better done naked (not a maxim? Maybe it should be) but I also accept clothing has its place as a protector. Having seen what a high-speed slide along asphalt can do to skin even with protection I wouldn’t want to encourage chancing it without! Or maybe that just reflects my own approach to sports, which these days goes little further than throwing the ball for the dog ... 🫢

February!.

Not to be a party pooper but I think Feb. is like all the other months, they are what we make of them.

Kinda like meditation , it’s a mindset, there‘s lots of joy and beauty to be found for the looking. It would be great on a warm sandy beach as well.

If being thoughtfully, comfortably socially nude makes you happy, then that’s a brilliant way to chase away the grumpies for a while. As for me, swimming in a warm pool and a sauna to warm up in after is as extreme as I think sensible.

Hockey; to be safe, requires a lot of textiles, participating in any other extreme sports also requires a lot of textiles and plastic. Mountain biking …… ouch without protection…. Right?

Maybe just being casually naked in any setting other than the strict confines of your own home is extreme enough these days.

Grumpy?

I don’t do people well. They are so damn annoying, if not by assuming everyone is on their “team” or trying to push and pull everyone into their lane.

I am a most grimpy in Nov and Dec. By February I am fairly content

The Naturist or free hiking I do is hardly 'extreme', but I do like to do it barefoot as well as nude when possible.
