Opinion: The kids will be alright
Nudism and naturism will survive the baby boomers generation, if not their clubs

A short one . . .
Picking up on the preceding post, I have no doubt that naturism and social nudism will survive the demise of the baby boomer generation. And I would be surprised if there wasn’t a “generation gap” between boomers and Millennials and Gen Z when it comes to naturism and many other things as well.
It’s normal for older generations to hope their institutions will survive them, and it’s just as normal for younger generations to improve on them or cast them aside for something that works better for them.
It comes as no surprise to me that memberships in old landed and unlanded social nudism groups are declining as baby boomers fade away. But aside from that, since when have young people wanted to hang out with their grandparents’ generation, apart from family gatherings?
One does not have to be a member of an organization to consider themselves “naturists” or “nudists.” Nudism and naturism are about practising non-sexual nudity — and for some, about a more holistic lifestyle in harmony with nature and the environment. It can be a very personal thing, and it can be a social thing.
After all, everybody is naturally naked, and who doesn’t enjoy skinnydipping or strolling in the buff on a sandy beach? Or just nude sunbathing on a deck?
I have no idea if today’s younger people are really more prudish than baby boomers, as some claim (see preceding post). I suppose drawing comparisons between generations is normal, too.
But I’m not worried about “the kids” when it comes to social nudism and naturism. Those who are interested will do it their way.
I don't see today's kids as more prudish. From what I can tell they are very much more into body negativity.
Good points. I can see it moving that way, too, Martin.
