How is your summer this year? Or winter, for those Down Under?
While Europe, the U.S. and other parts of the world bake in searing hot weather, we are having a mostly cool summer — with the odd hot day — so far following a cool spring. We’re getting lots of rain as well.
It has hardly been ideal naturism weather here in Quebec, and the forecast for the rest of the summer calls for more of the same — with lots of thunderstorms, too. Blame it on La Niña, the weather folks are saying.
Meanwhile, I’ve been watching our southern neighbour, the United States, with great concern this past month, in light of the Roe v. Wade and EPA rulings by the Supreme Court and the very conservative direction that court is taking — there is fear it might go after same-sex marriage and other cherished civil rights.
Americans are losing civil rights, and the court’s ruling on carbon emissions is being seen by many as a blow to not just Americans but all of humanity. I’m wondering if SCOTUS or other conservative groups will target nudists as well? Perhaps some of our American members can offer some thoughts on this.
That is what’s on my mind this July 1, which is Canada Day here. To all our Canadian members, Happy Canada Day! We have so much to be thankful for here, if not the weather, eh?
To all members, this is your monthly forum to talk about all things naturism and related subjects.

Fact is, there are no "nudist rights" in the US to be taken away. It is entirely at the mercy of your state and local governments, some of which have extreme laws in effect..
In the past the Supreme court had already ruled that nudity is not a protected form of expression and the states are free to regulate it as they see fit. That was long before the current super-conservative majority. Us nudies have ALWAYS been operating under exactly the same rules as women's reproductive health is now experiencing.
Welcome to the club!
I don't think nudists per se are under attack as we are such a small minority. SCOTUS has much larger fish to fry if they want to change the political/social landscape in the US.
